lPatt.com was created to foster discussion, act as a meeting place, valuable information, pictures, and video of machinery, gadgets, and equipment (some heavy and some light). I am created this site on my own, but hope to share this resource with others who very much enjoy working with technology and equipment to make their living.
Understanding and experiencing the love/hate relationship man has with machine, our lPatt project can be used as a community whereby users can help each other troubleshooting their machinery when it’s being “difficult”. We will also be providing a free classifieds feature to the site so that sellers, and buyers can connect to cut a deal with each other.
In the first stage of lPatt we will be focusing mostly on Tractors, Heavy Duty Equipment and Machinery, such as Loaders, Trucks, Excavators, Mowers, Combines, Crop Sprayers, Implements, and attachments. We will move on from there to include useful gadgets, equipment, and toys tools we enjoy employing in the day to day running of our businesses.
A Little About The Founder of lPatt.com – Not an Expert (yet)
My name is Doug Jensen and I grew up on the West Coast of Canada in British Columbia, and later moved east to the prairies, living and working in Saskatchewan, and currently Alberta. I was a Licensed Aircraft Engineer and worked for various small commuter airlines, and eventually for the major Airlines (the defunct Canadian Airlines, and finally Air Canada), until I retired in mid-2003 to start my own online business creating web properties for businesses and individuals.
As a child, I always had a great fondness for any kind of equipment used to work the land, haul, etc. I would ride my bike to watch an excavator in action, or watch the logging trucks load up down at the closest lumber yard. My favorite objects (beside sports equipment) were trucks, tractors, excavators, loaders, mowers, snow-cats, skidoos – you name it….it caught my attention. It caught my attention, but only as a spectator, because my family was never involved with contracting or farming. So here at lPatt.com I can enjoy talking about heavy duty machinery at long last.
Most of the heavy duty and light duty equipment I will talk about and show pictures (and videos) I have a very limited understanding of their actual workings, let alone the maintenance required to keep them running, but I have a keen understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems from my training and experience as an Aircraft Engineer. I’m hoping the the visitors of REAL world experience teach me a few things here.

Usually I will not have any real world experience using the machinery I have posted the article about, so I encourage you to email me at setmestraight@lpatt.com with some REAL WORLD information from your experience working in the field. Just a quick note can be posted by using our comment form at the bottom of any article here, but for longer explanations, pictures (I HOPE) and the like, email them to me so I can post it! You can use your real name, or if you would prefer to maintain your privacy, you can use a “writing name” of your choice. I can give you a complimentary writing name if you prefer.
