Online Reviews

Toro does not offer online reviews of their products on their web site. We did find various other non Toro web sites that provided various comments both positive and negative about the product. We could not define any particular positive or negative comments that we would like to include in this review. Suffice to say, the Toro LX425 riding lawn mower is most likely just like all of the other riding lawn mowers. They are well built , have been around for sometime, so most of the kinks and problems have been worked out of these products.

Still, they will have the standard problems that any piece of equipment will have during long term operation. Most consumers can perform simple repairs and also perform straightforward maintenance.  Follow the guidelines in the manual and never work on the Toro LX425 riding lawn mower while it is running to avoid serious accidents.

Safety & Maintenance

The Toro LX425 riding lawn mower comes with an hour meter to remind you when to perform important maintenance services. This can be a really valuable instrument. The manual will advise you regarding how often oil changes, lubrication, spark plug changes etc should be changed. With an hour meter that captures how long the engine has been running, consumers can easily keep track of when they need to perform these regular maintenance procedures. Each time you change the oil for example, note the meter reading in your manual so you can refer to it and be reminded of when to change the oil again. Same thing with spark plugs and lubrication. Most engines should have the oil changed at a minimum of once per year, and more often depending how long your engine has been running.

Always make sure the engine is turned off and the key removed so that the engine cannot accidentally start potentially causing a serious accident. Blades should also be sharpened on a regular basis to ensure a nice clean cut to your grass. Sharp blades will do a better job of cutting grass and it is healthier for your grass as well. A sharp blade will cut the grass, while a dull blade will tear the grass blade leaving it jagged and susceptible to disease.

Most dealers will provide repair and maintenance services, as well as parts that the do it your self home mechanic may need. Also local small engine mechanics can also provide maintenance and repair services if you are unwilling to do some of this work your self. While the Toro LX425 riding lawn mower is under warranty, you probably want to have your maintenance and repairs completed by the dealer. However once the warranty period is over, always comparison shop for parts as well as services.

Toro also offers and online FAQ support section on their web site. This information is continuously updated, however at the time of writing the site provided information about starting problems, finding manuals, engine problems and grass cutting issues. If you have any problems with your Toro LX425 riding lawn mower, you may want to review this section prior to calling the dealer or taking your Toro LX425 riding lawn mower into the dealer for maintenance.
